Let's just say that Melo were to come at the cost of Brooks (and obviously more), moving Lowry up and leaving only Ish (scary thought, at this point, IMHO), then if he is still not signed back in Euroball might the $1.3+ not be a worthwhile expense with the upside promise of MLE $ or better after the season?

Teo is the real deal and better than AB. If you watched the semi-final yesterday, he's clearly the MVP among those NBA players on the same court.

This is just what you think. I don't believe that AB will EVER be a star in this league; he simply has too many deficiencies. He is fast and can shoot lights out, but that is the only thing he brings to the table. He is a below average passer, over dribbles, does not finish strong, and horrid defender. He also takes almost half of his shots beyond the perimeter, which is horribly inefficient. While it is true that he has become a much better shooter during clutch, but I have also seen him brick enough late game FT's to be cautious.

To me, AB is simply another undersized two guard like Nate Robinson and Ben Gordon. If we pick up a superstar or another star to go with Martin and Yao, I can easily see him being traded or leaving for a bigger contract, because with an added scorer, his only usefulness to the team becomes unneeded. AB is a great scorer and unfortunately, that is all he is.

Maybe you missed that part where he could pass?

AB is good. Quality. And despite his 'advancing' age, improving his skills and leadership. Don't underestimate the man. He is good.

I never said he was bad, just one dimensional. If he's not scoring, he is usually hurting the team since he's not a good passer and a horrible defender.

Maybe. But most likely not. He'll likely get more from a big money Euro team to stay over there. Also, there is no such thing as the promise of the MLE. First of all, it is against league rules to sign a player and then promise him the MLE in a subsequent year. It's akin to "Joe Smith" territory. Second, there might not be such a thing as the MLE next year. I think the owners are going to push hard to abolish the MLE in its entirety, since it has been one of the biggest reasons for inflated player salaries in recent years.

This was Milos knocking Spain out of the FIBA World Championship a week ago.

I will be ecstatic if we get him because he is a star!

Yes, yes. But, still - if he came over as 'clear' 2nd string with likelihood of significant time all could get taken care of. Sounds simple, but after all - this is the most maybe of situations all the way through.

A signing bonus can be added to that $1.365M in an offer to whoever they look to sign?

    Three.

Another is only needed if either Ish is not able to play minutes competitively or if Brooks were dealt (ostensibly for Melo).

You mean, White Guys walk like this. And Euros walk like that.

White Guys talk like that. And Euros talk like this.

But, seriously (?) - there is a cultural difference rampant thru NBA. Bosh didn't want any culture but his, rejected Raps, Mavs and Rox. Kleinas wanted his culture, rejected Nugs for Raps. Scola and Bud fit in with Shane and Yao, perhaps less so if they were Hawks?

Whatever, teams need players who fit into the culture established and if there is no culture existant there is not likely going to be success. In today's NBA.

All he can do its shoot.. brooks can shoot BETTER, and is much faster. No need unless we trade AB, then he'd be our backup.
